The academic art of riding is not a fixed method or recipe. Its strength is that it looks at each individual combination in both body and mind to adjust to the strengths and challenges of each rider and horse. However, as a red thread to advance the training we use the Academic Ladder with exercises to develop the horse. In this weekend clinic the participants are all working on different parts of the ladder, both in riding and from the ground, so that this weekend will present you with a training structure and ideas how and when to use a certain exercise or to deviate from the ladder to adjust to specific rider or horse needs.
In the theory blocks we ask Bent Branderup to elaborate on the Academic Ladder and the how, when and why of all the steps on the ladder.
