Safe mounting

Many riders struggle with mounting their horse and miss to educate this important task to it. A horse that knows how to balance itself before a rider mounts its back will have much easier to take care of the rider’s weight. We should aim at creating a safe horse rather than only dressing it with safe equipment. If we can make the horse proud and aware when mounted, a lot of important aspects have been covered at that early stage. Mounting is an education exercise that shouldn’t be rushed through. This video follows the article “Safe Mounting” from “Academic Art of Riding” volume 4.
